Bark-A-Bout is pleased to offer Puppy Steps and S.T.A.R. Puppy^SM Programs.

Puppy Steps Daycare Program

Puppy Steps Daycare Program provides your puppy with a lovingly structured, fun and secure, “home away from home". Half day and full day schedules are available.

Considering that puppies have needs and characteristics that are unique to their age group, the Puppy Steps curriculum and environment have been designed exclusively for puppies aged eight weeks through six months. Underlying the success of Puppy Steps is the practical fact that all activities and care take place in an area of Bark-A-Bout that is designated solely for puppies - completely separate from adult canine activities. Puppy amenities include K9 grass for potty training, stepping blocks, practice stairs, and soft, puppy-appropriate toys.

Keeping in mind a puppy's unique patterns for play, feeding and sleep, our Puppy Nanny develops weekly lesson plans and activities. These lessons and activities provide structured play, establish and reinforce beneficial behavior patterns, help your puppy learn valuable life skills, and nurture your puppy into full-grown "Doghood". Activities and lessons include:

• puppy mouthing
• exposing puppies to varied objects, sights and sounds in ways that create positive experiences and imprints
• guided social play and active play with other puppies
• lots of loving affection, praise, and one-on-one attention
• And, of course, your puppy will be given plenty of nap time.

Training is a key objective in Puppy Steps and is a practical end result of our attentive interaction with your puppy. Daily curriculum is further enhanced by incorporating S.T.A.R. Puppy^SM professional training techniques, thus helping your puppy prepare to be certified by the American Kennel Club. Potty training, mouthing and basic obedience are disciplines that your puppy will master before graduating into our Canine Daycare Program. You will receive weekly Puppy Diary notes that record the progress and achievements of your puppy in the Puppy Steps Program. And to celebrate your puppy's successful completion of Puppy Steps, Bark-A-Bout will host a private Graduation Pawty!

Furthermore, for your convenience and peace-of-mind, we provide a 24 hour webcam on which you may observe your puppy at play from anywhere on-line. If you would like to remain on-site, we additionally provide a second story Cafe & Viewing Lounge where you may relax, enjoy a snack and watch your loved one on closed circuit monitors.

Please Note: For the benefit of all our valued Bark-A-Bout clients, each puppy will go through our Enrollment Process in order to qualify for participation in our Puppy Steps Program.

S.T.A.R. Puppy^SM Program

 

The American Kennel Club S.T.A.R. Puppy^SM is an exciting new program designed to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start. The American Kennel Club S.T.A.R. Puppy^SM Program is an incentive program for loving dog owners who have taken the time to take their puppies through a basic training class.
